Just read an article in the Sunday paper (AP, I think) about the pervasive corruption of the Mexican police. While this isn't a surprise (that has been well known for years), the scale of the problem and the institution is immense. While corruption becomes a way of doing business, it is an unsuccessful parasite that kills its host. True Believers will fight to the last man in defense of their principles.

Was it only 20 years ago that Gary Hart got ran out of the democratic primary for having his picture taken with Donna Rice on his lap? We've come a long way, baby. In fairness, the dems also ran Packwood and almost Clarence Thomas out of Washington, too. But now the public has tired of the issue. Let's move on to higher ground, money, baby, show me the money.
