DMA, sorry to have missed that point. Frankly, I do not think that the method of disbursement of the "expected" $4 Trillions in excess revenues over the next 10 years (tax cut for the wealthy like you and I, or spending on education and alternative renewable energy resources) has any impact on the SS system. The surplus (as long as the "layer of payers" is greater than the "layer of payees") will generate, for some time, surpluses in the SS trust funds, and I think that these should be invested at the highest rate of return comensurate with absolute safety. Maybe investing in Ginie Mae (more than 8%) is the best route, I would not sugget I know.

I was under the impression that that was "trivial".
