The BBC Ceefax City News have had the following item on their service most of the day. It reads

" Japanese firms are set to flood global markets with 6m barrels of heating oil in a move analysts said could drag surging crude oil prices to $25 /barrel.

November Brent crude dropped 60 cents to $29.70/barrel its lowest since August 8th after the move by Japanese oil distributors.

They were responding to a request from Trade Minister Takeo Hiranuma. He said he had decided to act to prevent high oil prices destabilising the world economy"

As I say this has been on our screens most of the day. Have I missed this or is this new news ?

<<I'm still buying>> Me too. Essentially buying back many of the shares bought previously on 9/25 (last little bottom) and sold 2 to 3 days later.

I don't think it matters too much who is elected. The fundamentals of supply/demand will determine prices.

A little fear today => a buying op (I hope).

Take care all. Winkman

EDIT<<" Japanese firms are set to flood global markets with 6m barrels of heating oil in a move analysts said could drag surging crude oil prices to $25 /barrel.>>

If this is the case, it sounds like a political deal with Clinton. Like him or not, he is one hell of a good politician. Like our SPR release and refill with more, this action will just shift demand downstream. It will probably depresss HO now, but like with crude, reduce backwardation (sp).

Jim. My read also. And here's a look at NG bellweather APA:

Down hard again today. But at 54 1/16 (last I looked) it's coming into some important ST support.

My guess is we're getting very close to at least a ST rally on the many other patch stocks and the indices as well.

Quality of that rally will an important clue to where we go next.
