From CNET: "HLIT mgmt attributed the seq lower BAN rev to a general slowdown rather than competitive losses; weakness across the CATV eqpt mkt does not bode well for other cable eqpt vendors."

Thread- Just like I thought. Pure CNET spin. If anything, in the 30 minute CC, Tony(CEO of HLIT) went out of his way to reinforce that it was NOT an industry wide slowdown in spending. But like all the other members of the financial press, CNET chose to take the penguin route and jump in with all the other birds calling for a slowdown in telecom spending. In this case, their spin is false. Once those few big Wall Street houses coordinate an attack on a sector, they sure get the full cooperation of the financial press to really start the avalanche. -MikeM(From Florida)
