CBC's response to my eMail to them... Given my severe criticism of that organization, I've decided to share a
more professional response out of them.

Ian.

+++++++++++++++

Thanks very much for your e-mail.

You're absolutely right. We were wrong in what we said about QLT Inc.
on Wednesday night. The company didn't issue an earnings warning, and
Fred Langan was mistaken when he made that statement to our market watcher
during the program.

We pride ourselves on trying to be as accurate as possible when we
report on business news. (That includes Fred Langan, who has considerable
experience as a business journalist inside and outside of the CBC).
Unfortunately that wasn't the case with the QLT story on Wednesday night.

We will be airing a correction on tonight's program so our viewers know
the real situation with QLT.

My apologies to you (and our other viewers) for this mistake. We'll
try to do better - hopefully a lot better - in the future.

Thanks again for the e-mail.

Garth,

Far be it from me to attempt to guess what might have motivated Leerink to issue their nonsense.

That's more in Janet Reno's domain. She's done a good job of cleaning up the organized crime links into brokers re the pink sheet junk. Perhaps her job is far from over. ;^)
