<Another victim of non-inflation >

And:

Airlines raising prices yet again

Businesses likely to be hardest hit

Oct. 3, 2000

By Chris Woodyard, USA TODAY

After four fare increases and two fuel surcharges this year, airlines
succeeded Monday in pushing through yet another jump in airfares.

The latest increase will hit business travelers using full-fare, unrestricted
tickets for another $10 to $30 more each way — depending on how far
they are flying.

The increase doesn't affect discounted fares used most by leisure fliers.

"Flier Specific"... not counted.

Unfortunately for Owens-Corning, what they are a "victim" of is a massive cover-up of research going back to the early part of the century that asbestos causes lung cancer. This is no lie, I've handled and read copies of the cover-up documents numerous times. I used to work for a firm that handled asbestosis cases, the guys you ought to feel sorry for are the ones that got the lung cancer. You know how lung cancer gets you, finally, after making you sick for a long time? Your lungs fill up with fluid and you drown. It takes a long time, too, weeks, and you're conscious of it happening. This thing was a trial lawyer's dream. I don't have any respect for the guys in the tobacco litigation, those people smoked by their own free choice, and I don't have any respect for the guys in the breast implant litigation, the things aren't harmful, it's junk science. But asbestosis was different, the guys who got lung cancer were sitting ducks.
