Greg, My top 2 holdings are Corning and Nortel.
JDSU is a significant position for me. Thought about QCOM but will wait a little while.

I just like Cornings's ability to position itself in the highest growth sectors---biotech and optical.
IMHO, brilliant management. Lots of R and D going on in this company--not all corporations can afford to do this. In addition, it is not as well owned by mutual funds. That could be a huge factor. Looking for 140 to 150 by late October!

NT is amazing as well--how they changed so quickly under John Roth--one of the ways competitors can get business is if NT is sold out. No doubt NT is the clear leader but Ciena, Cisco can do well due to the capacity issues at NT.

JDSU---it came out of nowhere...and that says it all.

bottom line for me is to stay in leading optical stocks and avoid the small players. It would be hard for the start ups to get the best customers.
Just waiting for blowout earnings from NT, GLW, JDSU, SDLI.
