Gottfried, ah okay that's a very different statement, then.

So others were doing the 'averaging' themselves, which is a huge assumption.

AMD's statement would remain true under this new scenario:

Assume Duron 800, Ath 1200 are before Nov 15.

Then: 1.266, 1.333 Tbird, 1.4 Mustang, 850 Morgan, and either 1.5 mustang, or perhaps 850 Duron pre-morgan would make 5...

Re:"Ruiz: AMD will introduce five new processors between Nov. 15 and Feb. 15."

Gottfried,

Those processors could also include the embedded variety.

Re: 5 new processors from Nov 15 to Feb 15

Looking at the roadmap Doug posted, those would be

TBird 1.2, 1.26, 1.33
Duron 800, 850

The 1.26 and 1.33 look to be coming early next year, with the 1.4 Palomino in Q1 and 1.5 in Q2 as well.

I guess it is not such a bad roadmap compared with Intel's :^)

Gottfried, Re: Ruiz: AMD will introduce five new processors between Nov. 15 and Feb. 15.

Hector is speaking of processors here -- not speed grades.

All these new processors will be probably different variations of the Mustang core. We will see at least one server processor (Mustang), two mobile CPUs and two enhanced desktop CPUs (Palomino and Morgan). Probably the Mustang will be the first, followed by the mobile solutions in late Q4/early Q1 and the new desktop solutions in Q1.

From the same article :

The Sledgehammer will also be the first AMD processor to use the company's new Lightning Fast Transfer I/O bus for connecting an array of I/O devices at extremely high speeds and large bandwidths.

Mmm? really? did Ruiz approve that assumption?

I was expecting it with the 770
