I have no problem with standardized tests where there is but one right answer, like math and driving tests.

Many, many years ago I taught public high school. I had a sixth year senior (in a 4 year program) who had difficulty writing his own name.

In spring he rode to school on a 2 cylinder motorcycle he had made 100 PERCENT from scratch (with the exception of the tires, wires & spark plugs). He machined and lathed all the parts.

I also had "normal" kids who could pass all those standardized tests who would shoot peanut butter in their veins because they loved the high and couldn't afford junk.

Which one would you want to work on your car?
