Bill, Stanford 101. Never let them see you in fear, uncertainty, or doubt.
The only fear, is fear itself! And if you don't feel fear, uncertainty and doubt can't come next.
Btw
A little $cash sitting in the bank helps get rid of fear too.:-)

>>I am surprised HB still has a job

Pretty radical, Glenn? It's a bad market. They happen. Henry should be fired for a correction?

William,

I am not being radical. I was looking at HB's reasons for buying stocks. I was/am only looking at the fundamentals. It appears HB did not and still does not have a good feel for the fundamentals of many of the firms he covers from what I can tell. The most obvious is Amazon. HB would jump on every new agreement and product line Amazon was going to carry as a plus. He apprently never looked into the financials of the ACN partners. I doubt he looked at what went in to fulfillment costs and the logistics of shipping from various distribution centers when it is one order. I believe he was way over optimistic about the Zshops and thir revenue. He was clearly inaccurate in stating he thought Amazon would give Ebay a run for their money in auctions. The fall of Priceline is not market specific although the market is not helping. My opinion is the business model of Priceline is flawed as is that of Amazon. I have always felt that way. It is my opinion analysts should have a good understanding of the fundamentals and aspects of a business model and my opinion is he does not.

I am going to tout myself once if not a few time. My constant repetition of the statement that Amazon can never be profitable until fulfillment costs are less than gross margins so far has proven quite accurate. I also have stated that the only way Amazon can obtain gross margins that are higher than fulfillment costs is to sell their products at a higher price than a brick and mortar store. It also clear Amazon will not be able to do that.

Even though you bought it cheap, I'm guessing you sold Akamai today for technical reasons,
not fundamental ones. That's happening all over: fear, uncertainty and doubt.

I did not sell AKAM today. I wondered why is proportionatly was down more than the market. I am under water considerably in my AKAM position so "cheap" is relative. I sold nothing today. I sold my position in SCMR yesterday which I mentioned to you. That was my last trade.
