The more you make the more in SS you pay don't you?
So you are saying the top 10% should pay 90% of the SS taxes?
Should the "rich" pay a higher "rate" on gasoline? Sales tax?

I guess it's better to strive to be poor and let others pick up the tab, eh? Worked in Russia... for a while...

Here are government collections for 1998 as a percentage of total collections.


Individual income tax 50.0%
Employee portion of Social Security taxes 16.8%


Of course, most grand political pronouncements here are dubious, so what the heck.

PS: Social Security is not really a tax. It is an old age and disability insurance.
