Mike: I have a good friend from college who's an attorney in Dallas. He's a strong Dubya supporter, so he and I mix it up from time to time via e-mail. He says much of what you say, that George has many good points. I must admit, though, that if George is a genuinely congenial person, I haven't seen much evidence of such on TV. Obviously, it's different relating to people in Massachusetts than in Texas if you hail from Texas. Bottom line is if Bush is elected president on Nov. 7, I'll sleep pretty well that night (provided Gephardt also becomes our next House speaker). However, if Gore is elected president on Nov. 7, many on this thread will go into deep, deep depression.
