the averages mask the half off (or more) prices on household stock names, like softie, micron, apple, ma dell, etc.

one of my buddies used to say 'ya gotta be in high tech'.

he's still thanking me for making him sell his nasdaq fund on jan 2/00

The real test comes next week -- will we see optimism for the 4th quarter or
renewed warnings? Good luck.

I do not anticipate any earnings upside surprises.
