Bill:

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying KOPN is a bad investment, I have a smallish (compared to PALM!) holding myself, IMO a great investment for now. They have a strong market presence, good management, and already commercial products.

But I try to keep a step ahead with what's coming along, and I picked up on Alien Technology a few months ago from a link on SI to a Flat Panel Display Conference of some sort which I then dug through to see what new developments were potentially in the works. Alien's FSA technology has the potential to be "disruptive", in that if proven out as a high yield large scale continuous manufacturing process, it could easily produce color displays at a fraction of the cost of the present TFT and other displays.

There was also a recent link to Alien's website by Engineer on the QCOM thread:

So I'm not the only one keeping an eye on this company.

If you didn't yet, read the white paper on the FSA manufacturing process:

alientechnology.com

But Alien Tech's FSA process is a ways from commercialization, and if they prove out the manufacturing, they may be taken out before they ever get public. I hope I didn't put you off KOPN with my post!
