Re: Vice Presidential debates. I was aghast at Lieberman's repeated references to "behavioral tax credits" for this, that, and the other thing. It struck home all at once: Arrogant Gore views us as nothing more than dogs, willing to change our behavior in response to biscuits (tax credits) if we do what he wants! My response: NO WOOF!

My two dogs respond to biscuit incentives. I'll be dam*ed if AlGore is going to reduce my humanity to that. What an arrogant insult!!!

Absolutely. If you look at the Gore abomination his type thinking is how our code got to over 10000 pages. He is the "big government" mentality. Micromanage society by giving a credit here or there if you live and do as Washington wants you to do. Then you get a little of your money back. Gore even plays games that are a little disgusting. He talks about a 10000. tax deduction for a child going to college. That is true but if you have two children the second one or any other of your children do not qualify. Also, there (and I can't remember what it is) is another credit you normally receive that is removed so you really only get around 7500. after that. It may be the dependent deduction for the child. Bush is simply proposing giving all taxpayers a break and let them use the money as they see fit in their personal lives. Which is superior? In my mind, there is no question Bush offers a far superior program.

Of course you know that I believe that the income tax is an abomination and should be abolished. But certainly, if it is not going to be, a flat tax would make more sense than this insane thousand page nonsense we have that even the IRS does not understand. It'sa recipe for special interests of our Congresscritters and in fact there are many items in there that were written for one or two specific people in office!!!!

What a market day: one of the radio personalities said around 11 a.m. eastern time that there must be some very big bad news coming out soon.
