Speaking of asylums, did anyone see this on the CNBS board?

Ted
Close friend of mine wanted to write a letter to CNBC. I told her we have a direct pipeline to you via SI. Here are her comments.

==========================================================

Dear Ted:

As Senior Activities Coordinator for a residential group home for mentally handicapped men, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for CNBC. Your graphics-rich, content-free programming is perfect for entertaining the residents for hours at a time. No sex, no violence and plenty of colorful, meaningless pictures. Your recent changes to the graphics - adding several doo-dads, blinking arrows and extensive use of the CNBC logo along with the inspirational music - certainly have not gone unnoticed by the men (although it has resulted in a few men becoming overexcited and several have had seizures).

Although I wish I could provide only positive feedback, there are several areas of concern:

(1) Several of the idiot savants have an uncanny knack for detecting …uh...shall we say, prevarication. In those circumstances, they become uncontrollably agitated and must be medicated. In order to cope with this, to date we have simply used the "mute" button whenever Al Goldman, Erik Gustaffson or Joe Battipaglia have come on the show or when Maria touts Micron Technology, but the other residents complain bitterly. Any suggestions?
(2) My earlier comment about no sex on the show was not totally accurate. Whenever Maria uses that slutty, come-hither voice, the TV Room quickly degenerates into a 30 man circle jerk. The fellows have seen this act before on those late-night 1-900 sex advertisements, and they know what is being sold. We don't want to use straightjackets on the men during her 2:00 show - could she clean it up a little?

Anyway, besides those minor things, your programming is great, the fellows love it and it has made my job incredibly easy.

Thanks
