My rationale for holding CMGI, and also partly for holding ATHM, is that I think that the age of web advertising has not yet begun. ... Yes, I feel that way too as far as Excite (ATHM) and CMGI goes. Ad fees are very much based on eyeballs. @home sub growth is ramping up and in a few years will be several times the current level. In addition, broadband will present it's own opportunities for advertisement that narrowband ISP's (such as AOL) will never see. These factors insure that todays ad revenues for Excite are nothing compared to what is coming.
