Because it's profitable? Highly so. Only here is profit a dirty word with some - mining ore at the profit is the name of the game - or/and who said gold has to go up in price - is it so written in the stars?

Hi Probart. In your statement " Why would a company want to increase demand when there is clearly a glut in the commodity that they sell? " Did you mean increase production?. If so IMO it must be intentional cuz no group of people could be that stupid. I can't think of any other industry that would go all out to increase production while their product continues to drop in price. Maybe former US president Bush or former Canadian Prime Minister Mulruiney who just happen to be on the board of directors of Barrick could explain???

Probart, Your question of why does Barrick ABX act counter to the market's Supply & Demand equation has been addressed by Ken Benes in a manner that suggests that Barrick's agenda is to help advance to a quick conclusion the path of a low gold price sustenance. Like most folks, when someone repeats over and over the same message directed towards the same target, its in one ear and out the other wthout any contact of brain or spinal cord gray matter. That said, I have to admit that eventhought I have read every word of Ken's posting, there was too much effort displayed in words by Ken to belittle & bash d dd ddd, which results in a low absorption of the lower amount of facts & figures Ken presents to make his case. Many times I had to force myself to reread what Ken wrote, not because I was unable to understand his technical points, but they traveled piggyback on the overbearing bash stuff along the same path that correctly circumcised gray matter. Yes, its bad news when blood does an exit from the ear opposite the one that receives stuff of a nature that causes damage, but when your gray matter also does an exit with or without the ketchup, then thats a signal from yourself to yourself being made in a public manner that forces inside your head will continue to remove your thinking stuff until its all empty and no more need be a detour made, as then that bashing stuff can enter and move in a straight line to exit other ear quickly without any "processing" needed. Ken's conclusion I must admit got lost in the forest of bash trees, as I can not see the others trees as the forest is in the way. Hopefully Ken can tell me again for the first time his opinion of why Barrick ABX does as it does, as in for what reason, as in end result or purpose, and leave out the characterization of dumb stupid etc., to describe his outrage. My opinion is the same as I have already stated, which is Barrick ABX wants a collapse of the gold producers that do not have any money in the bank, or do but have debts to cancel and nullify their ability to use that cash for survival. Also, any gold producers that may survive to be desecrated by the fact that they have not the bank and political connections Barrick ABX made in exchange for helping the gold manipulation continue and stay strong enough to fight off Bill Murphy's GATA. If Gore wins the prez, then GATA's ability to deliver will not only become very difficult, but near impossible as prez Gore will do the Walk to the Robert Rubin doing a Talk into his ear. Going back to the Barrick ABX focus one has to address and identify certain persons places and things like past events and people contacts and links and threads and connections to understand which of the players, as in current gold producers, has what is needed as Barrick ABX has to cross the Finish Line standing. Which ones will collapse and die, which ones will "give-up" and wait to be "collected", and which ones will continue to do a NO See/Hear/Talk and be at the mercy of Evil(s). A post of mine weeks ago ask if anyone had a list of gold producers that listed their financial statements as in the last reporting statement to shareholders. Nothing, None, No, Silence. Barrick has a healthy bank account, I have heard. Barrick has "healthy" political connections , I have heard. Barrick has "healthy" bank(ing) connections , I have heard. The others gold producers have what in money persons places and things? While folks watch things like the XAU for answers and whats what, seems to me what determines the whats what is elsewhere and not on this GPM thread. <<... Can someone please explain. If so I recommand without giving reasons that you do NOT contact GATA's legal "arm" through GATA, but do so directly without any contact with GATA as to the information you supply.
