I view margin as being like a chain saw in that it is a tool, but one you must be very careful with - otherwise you will do great violence to yourself.

I have a credit line behind the margin so that I just throw money in from the credit line. However, I still try never to have a margin call. The idea is not to sell at the bottom. I have found success using margin in Nov. and selling in the spring to reduce margin to 0.
