Check out the TPC web site for the new records in Database transactions per seconds (and per dollar!)

Compaq today published a new record setting TPC-C result, recording the highest performance ever. With a performance rating of 505,302 tpmC and price/performance of $20.68 per tpmC, the 24-node ProLiant system is the first and only result to break through the half-million tpmC threshold.

On the TPC-C performance list, SQL Server now holds the #1 position, 4 of the top 5, and 5 of the top 10 results. Windows 2000 holds 6 of the top 10 results. Sun shows up in only the #8 position and Oracle is barely hanging on in the #10 position
