I'm just asking a question. If I say you can't be Claudia Schiffer's boyfriend when you get out of prison, and you weren't before, nor are you like to ever be, is that a "punishment"? Didn't seem so to me. You were the one saying that removing voting was a punishment. If it is, then it really isn't very effective as a punishment.

If you go back to my first posts I said that it was more important to have a good process of inclusion than to have actual voting. The process by which you de facto remove a group from the democratic process doesn't sound right. Sure they can petition, but gee do you think they will, you have to be a) interested, b) literate, and c) care. I don't think that any of these criteria are being met.

What is the point of doing this?
