Yeah you are right. The employer looks at the past history of the candidate. Let us see now

One has a history of embellishment.
Other has a history of Coke and Alcohol.
One has a long employment and big list of accomplishments Other has a smaller scale employment history with failures thrown into the mix.
One has earned the nomination
Other was coronated.

The only problem for the employer is that there only two candidates to choose from.
