Why Bush can't win.........Americans Would Vote for Clinton Over Bush
In a hypothetical match-up, Americans now say they would vote for President Clinton over George W. Bush — a change from last winter when Bush was the preferred candidate — according to a new ABCNEWS.com poll. (ABCNEWS.com)This ABCNEWS.com survey was conducted by telephone Sept. 27-Oct. 1, 2000, among a random national sample of 1,008 adults. The results have a three-point error margin. Although my religious foundation does not allow me to agree with abortion,

Mine doesn't either..

But unless I wish to overturn the constitution and install a theocratic government, I have to be objective and willing to compromise...

In a democratic country like ours abortion could not be banned unless we got more poeple to support the idea. However banning abortion would not be equivilent to installing a theocratic government. Opinions on abortion will obviously be effected by religous beliefs, but it is not a theological issue. A position that is supported by a religous group is not properly out of bounds for consideration in a democratic nation with diverse beliefs. It should not be accepted just because some religous group supports it (if it is then you do have a theocratic governemnt), but it should not be rejected merely for this reason either. It should get the same consideration as any other idea competing for support in our country.
