Remember, I'm on your side. Affectivity is probably not an issue. The guy was at his son's bedside for a straight month after the accident. A narcissistic father might have forgotten to send flowers. The lying is an issue. By itself it is not enough to diagnose Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I think that impulse control in this sense deals with actions not words. Things like compulsive risk taking, promiscuity, etc. Don't shoot the messenger. I don't like the Empty Suit any more than you do.
