Mark,

The TAP biz.is great now becuase of the higher margins through scale. That portion of the biz has a higher margin than EFNT and makes more profit than all of EFNT. But I guess you don't know about profits yet, since EFNT still hasn't made any. You call it junk, then by your standards EFNT is worse than junk. LOL! So, WSTL is wringing a lot of cash out of the old TAP biz. Nothing to knock, Mark.

The new TAP biz. will be about DSL. Specifically, G.SHDSL. It replaces both HDSL(2) and SDSL. WSTL is very excited about this and will soon announce products in the 4th qtr. G.SHDSL will be the standard for most broadband into businesses. Yes, the future is uncertain here. Lots of players, including CSCO getting into it. This does effect EFNT directly, those Flowpoint SDSL routers will be junked and new G.SHDSL ones will have to be developed. We may see EFNT and WSTL compete in this space in addition to ADSL.

In case you don't know what's going on here is a good link about G.HSDSL:

ieng.com

The CPI biz to WSTL is worth $2/share or about $100-$150M, all other posts inflating the value are ridiculous. You never heard me claim any more.

As far as commoditization of ADSL modems that goes to both EFNT and WSTL. They both want the prices to stay higher. EFNT more than WSTL because of their much higher operating costs.
