hey alex

the only experience i have with win2k is looking at the outside of the sealed carton sitting four feet away from my computer. so i am definitely in no position to offer assistance installing realplayer on that os.

other than to say... try stuff you haven't tried, and if you've been 'going by the book', don't go by the book so much.

though that last may sound like a wise-crack, it wasn't meant to be.

sorry can't help

:)

mark

I did misunderstand, but my intention is not to re-install anyway. If I were to go to that trouble it would suddenly become my son's problem. That's what kids are for; that and programming VCRs.

I suspect that there is a glitch in Dell's installation of the OS, but I'm going to either allow MSFT to tell me that or else wait for the next OS to come out. I think I read here that a new one is possibly coming next month.
