I am routinely reminded of a Simpsons episode in which Lisa designs a science project to compare Bart's intelligence to that of a mouse. In one scene, there is an electrified goodie or some kind, a tart or a cookie or somesuch thing. Bart picks it up and gets shocked of course, but as you can imagine, he just keeps picking it up over and over, crying out in pain each time. I recall it took the mouse only two tries to "learn".
