"....Mamis's book was extremely insightful..."

Every time someone writes to me and tells me that their paper trading works but has trouble making money in real life, I tell them that it's a psychological block. If their hypothesis works in practice, but does not work in real life, the only thing that has changed is the emotional state of the trader due to the fact that cold hard cash (and perhaps ego) is on the line. This is why Mamis' book, and also, John Magee's 1958 book, The General Semantics of Wall Street, are very valuable. Also, Jack Schwager's Market Wizards books are must-reads.

Did you like the illustration of the sentiment cycle in Mamis' book?
