You know, the interesting thing about this lap top thing is that NO one reallys knows what was on it...outside of Irwin and his advisors. He never claimed company secrets were on it. All I have seen is wild speculation on part of the press and the assumption people make about what is on THEIR lap tops must be on Irwin's. I trust Jacob's enough to be confident that there was nothing on that thing that would have compromised QCOM's future.

There are two sides to it, Mike. The Q is going through a transformation in the next few months in which some confidential plans could be jeopardized if they become the subject of rumors which later turn out to be accurate, as has taken place at QRTS. I think the subpoenas are warning shot across the bow of any employee who might be tempted to blab about things he shouldn't be blabbing about. In the high-stakes telecom biz, where information is more valuable than anything else, I think the Q is acting appropriately in protecting the company.

As far as Dr. J's loss of the laptop, give the man a break. How much cash has he put in your bank account as a result of his brilliant management and scientific expertise? Probably the only dumb thing he's ever done.
