"...it's really important to know oneself and one's own innate foibles/personality and, even though always trying to learn, make sure to find a trading style that works WITH one's personality rather than against it."

Yes, this is a fundamental truth in trading; however, it requires one to know theyself, and then be absolutely truthful with the reflection in the mirror. That's the hardest part.

"Truth in Trading
My goal is to share with you the trials and tribulations of market life. You will not find me jumping up and down when the market is up. You won't find me shaking in my boots when the market is down. You will find me sitting here, day after day, trading when there is a reason to do it, but only if the reward is worth the risk. I don't trade for pennies. I trade for dollars. I trade as little as possible, protecting my psyche from the daily grind that goes on. I analyze carefully, and strike when it is time. Otherwise, there is no need to act. Why? Because the market grinds on the human soul and takes it's toll. This is a job where one will never be right, where one will never be good enough. Even with the winning trades, there is always something I could have done better. When I lose, I analyze each loss, and try to avoid it in the future. No job demands more emotional stability and maturity than trading. People outside the market can lie to themselves for a lifetime, but my real-time account statement gives me the score every second of the day and keeps me honest. There is nowhere to hide. Traders must embrace the truth and live a truthful life. It is the way to freedom."
