Allen Wrench: If you honestly believe Bush is going to win Tennessee you must be living in Fantasy Land or listening to too many Alan Simpson speeches. As far as Georgia and its support for Bush: This is the state that gave us the inquisitor Barr and little Newt. Need I say more? (By the way, I try to use my derogatory adjectives sparingly, but really, Alan Simpson is One Big Jerk.) As you well know, the only poll that really matters is the state-by-state Electoral College poll, and NBC had Gore only 26 electoral votes from victory in its latest analysis presented after the veep debate the other night, with 100-plus electoral votes still up for grabs. Now I see where Bush has bought almost $2 million in TV ads to be broadcast in L.A. That is an act of desperation on his part. The Repub party hacks should have thought of the N.Y.-California problem long before now.
