And just what constitutes an "abnormal child?" What constitutes a healthy fetus? I mean no offense, but someone out there may think you are abnormal or unhealthy. As it was with the Jews in Germany -- and alas, those precious genes of yours -- vaporized!. When you say, "Is having a choice some sort of platonic ideal form of the "right" thing to do?" the reference to Plato may explain to me some of your belief system. Personally, I lean more towards the Aristotle's concepts of reality.
