ATT needs to do something very big. The Bell South news is huge. But, will it get the press we need on Monday morning when the NAZ does another tank job.

Pierre,

<< a "source close to Sprint" ... told me some time back that AT&T has been purchasing small regional CDMA carriers and not switching them to TDMA >>

Well, AT&T has of course purchased several CDMA properties, particularly those from the mandated Verizon divestitures, and indeed beat out Sprint in bidding for same.

<< Speculation is they are "trialing" the technology >>

One could speculate that.

More likely they are waiting to get closer to a TDMA-EDGE implementation. SBC has also been holding off on some of the announced changeover in Ameritech properties for the same reason, it seems.
