Stock in the Spotlight Dell
Dell Computer (DELL:Nasdaq) witnessed its stock get pasted after it became an 11th-hour addition to the preannouncement sweepstakes. The world's largest direct vendor of computers warned Wednesday that it may fall short of its 30% annual growth target this year because of lower-than-expected revenue in its third quarter. Dell officials added that fourth-quarter earnings may be a penny to two cents a share lower than expected. The stock ended the week at $25.3125, 58% off its 52-week high of $59.6875. The warning raised further questions about tech companies whose performance is tied to PCs. The funds listed below, which have big holdings in Dell, must be asking themselves these questions.
