One point that I think is important is that Bush doesn't seem to have a big ego that precludes him from surrounding himself with the best talent. He also has a record in Texas of being a very excellent consensus builder with the ability to work with Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike. I think a major statement in Bush's favor is that one of the top Democrats in Texas endorsed Bush for reelection. Bush won with around 70% of the vote. That is a giant statement of the opinion of the people he governs. I think Gore will have far inferior talent surrounding him (cabinet, etc) than Bush will. Just getting a man like Dick Cheney is powerful with his knowledge, steady and balanced thinking and track record. Then you go to Colon Powell as Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice, Bill Bennett, and many other talented people. I don't think Bush will have any probem hiring people smarter than he is. I think Gore might.
