Don, I may be wrong, but your posts indicate to me that you really don't understand what SGI is and what it was and where it has been. Ricky left because he bought into and sold SGI on the idea of a proprietary nt sgi box. And my post of that time run with the theme that that was idiotic. That really dumb course of action cost SGI dearly in lost focus and in reputation and stock value.

As an engineer and I suggest again that all look at the streaming videos. (hey you can even take in the 2 hours plus of nerdy Linux Failsafe.) Now let me note the videos adapt to the bandwidth selection and the 28.8k video may not be that impressive. But if you have the ability of broadband the stuff is way cool. I don't think that SGI will have any difficulty in hiring and retaining the best and the brightest as their products are used sexiest of all projects. The problem is that SGI has all the sexiest stuff and is that a distraction to sales execution.

I don't see SGI in any was as a shell of what it once was but a core no longer carrying other stuff. Cray and mips.
