First of all, Republicans have had an extremely difficult time going against the Democrats this election because the economic success resulting from a two-term Democratic administration. For example, paying down the nation's debt is no small achievement. Secondly, due to the absence of straightforward issues, the GOPwingers have resorted to personal attacks. I think they've accepted Dick Morris' advice for Bush to steal Gore's issues as one of the main prongs of campaign strategy. The other is, using Clinton, to paint Gore as a "liar," to the point where this gets discussed in every breakfast and lunch counter all throughout the country. Thirdly, I suspect we'll see some surprise dirty tricks against the Democrats in the eleventh hour, much like the independent counsel released information on the day of Gore's convention speech. Yup! The GOPwingers are like the ole' Standard Oil Company: Pretty greasy!
