Wholly agree ML tends to be overly conservative...ML, like most mainstream houses, don't want to upset the status quo too severely... Are these ML price targets overly conservative: VERT $175, AETH $350, CNXT $100, NSM $100? Is their $75 target on AMD overly conservative? The ML analyst has been more generous to AMD than INTC this year. I wouldn't say the analyst is conservative on AMD, I think he just doesn't have much interest in either AMD or INTC as demonstrated by how infrequently he addresses them in regard to their investment merits.
