Long-gone, please elaborate on your prior point.
"man deserves the right to exercise domain & control over animals"

Is this control & domain to be done in a manner that is done in a way that avoids wiping out species that we consider unnecessary as has been done in the past?

Your statement of domain & control should go in conjunction with responsibility and constraint. The statement on the surface may give the impression of domination unchecked, if an animal bothers us kill it without regard because we are superior brained beings who need not consider those creatures who are inferior or the macro consequences of our actions.

From a philosophical standpoint the question arises:
Why even the need for domain & control? Nietzsche's belief that the will to power was the single strongest motivational force in human action. The driving force in society is the acquisition of power rather than anything useful or immediately beneficial.

Or does this motivation and apparent need come from the fact that we as higher-brained animals have created weapons that artificially on a physical basis, make us turn the tables on Darwinian evolution and give us the ability to conquer an otherwise superior foe; Thereby feeding our self-esteem and image which would otherwise be one of undeniable fear in the presence of an animal such as a lion who would otherwise easily kill us.

It's like the bully who feeds off the weak and who becomes the advocate of social Darwinism. We have "the right" to dominate the inferior and do with as we please animal or human. Where's the difference IQ? brain structure? (This you of course will recognize as the basis of Hitler's philosophy). Since primates exemplify cognitive processes equal to or even superior to the severely disabled and retarded I don't think I'm stretching the metaphor.

Just looking for your thoughts and to expand the discourse.
