Seems like an overly complex way to re-invent capability that has been around in a cheap and reliable form for a long time. --- rudedog, do the words "better Unix than Unix" mean anything to you? Anything at all? <g> -JCJ

Rudedog,
You and tiguer may laugh, but Scott seems to be in complete earnest. As he said every device with a digital or electrical heartbeat will be connected to the internet -- via a SUNW server running ORCL. For GE it means not just being in the light bulb PRODUCT business, but in the light bulb SERVICE business as well, & keeps the business with GE and away from PHILIPS.

He also talks about the airlines blackbox NOT being ON the plane but DOWNLOADED in REAL TIME via telemetry to a SUNW SERVER. He thinks it is ridiculous to keep it on the plane and have to look for it after the crash -- usually under the ocean.

All the best,
Michael
