AMD will have its work cut out in Y2001 meeting demand for Durons and Athlons...with or without mobile Athys imho...AMD's major Y2001 problem will be the supply constraint...mobile Athys, workstation systems and servers will be icing on the cake...

AMD is in the enviable position of offering the market the best value product in retail quantities at all MHz ranges in an environment of increasing product demand...

INTC is in the unenviable position of having binsplits around 700 MHz, a range that is about to vanish beneath the soon to be entry point of 800 MHZ...INTC may be able to produce a zillion 650 MHz PWeeiii's, but, I'd argue the demand just won't be there in 3 months...

What I'm saying is demand for 1 gig and up will increase in Y2001, while that for 700MHz and under will drop off significantly...All I can say, is that, unless INTC pulls a rabbit out of its hat, something I'm not confident of, then let's hope for the sake of the INTC shareholder that the Xbox contract doesn't include scorched earth pricing!!!
