I didn't say that Gore "won" the debate (check through past posts of mine if you don't believe me), whatever that means. I judge the battle for the hearts and minds of the public who watched the debate to be a push. That the best Gore could manage with an assertiveness-challenged Bush who could not be bother to bone up on his own campaign's proposals (Did he help draft them? Does he know what's in them at all?) was a tie. Depressing. However (to borrow from Churchill), in the next debate Gore will have a different makeup person, Bush will still be clueless.
