But, you see, I question that use as being largely irrelevant and the main use is division of opinion.

But unfortunately in our political system are forced to choose between two options which contain within them, extremist views from both the left and right.

So yes, I do tend to categorize certain aspects of morality that fall in the center, since we find that one side or the other finds themselves dominated by their extremist elements.

And that is what I suggest is the case with Al Gore far more than it is with George Bush.

As for Jerry Dunphy... I'm not familiar with the case, but it makes sense to me... but I'm quite familiar with the scenario as I've seen these kinds of converts before.

Funny how you see people putting NRA stickers on the windows of their homes and vehicles, but you don't see too many anti-gun stickers being flaunted by the liberals...

Maybe intuitively these people know that the anti-gun "mission" they are on is not something they wish to advertise at the personal level.

Kinda like wearing a bullseye on your forehead...
