I agree with you about the dangers of insurance. That is what is tough about posting in numerous places. On our site, I clearly stated I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. Insurance companies play the market with those dues and that is where most of their earnings come from. The recent weakness of the market leaves us guessing as to if they were long or short here. If they were long and there is no rapid recovery in the market, then insurance earnings will be in the gutter come next quarter. I should have made sure I was clear about that in my post on this board. Insurance is also a global affair now days with many contracts sublet to Loyds of London etc so the currency swaps are just another problem lurking in the wings.
