A long time lurker and not a perma-anything, just a couple of comments:

if you chart the stock market over the years, it has always been a bull market

I guess this depends on what you call the market. Its fine to look at long term charts of the DOW, SPX, NDX, etc, but lets not forget that there is a regular process of culling the losers from these "market" barometers.

I also think the market is becoming stratified, very selective....there are a handful of stocks to be in.

When the market is that narrow, it is not healthy. For the few that choose wisely, sure, but when the masses that haven't chosen correctly lose big, all lose in the end.

Jill,

yes, almost like last year, except I had 199.9 % gains w/o internets....this year 12 %. I needed to buy new keyboard this weekend...this one must be french?<g> lasted 3 mos.

I think a big rally is possible opposed to a crash as some believe. I will be happy w/ 40% this year. very happy indeed. Besides, I'm far from being a Saudi price invested in PCLN<g>But, I got a poupers tip: Buy LU.

God bless the faithful. Remaining conservative until I see otherwise, as Jerry likes to say.
