You are making a very excellent point. When one has no respect for or commitment to the truth then anything can be promised. When one can change one hundred eighty degrees at the drop of a hat then anything the say or promise is effectively meaningless. How many issues has Gore flip-flopped on? Too numerous to mention. Will he flip-flop again? Whenever it serves his purpose. There are no true winners with Al Gore.
