"Is the iomegaware what provides you with the serial number or is it the norton software?"

iomega.

first of all, are you right-clicking the removable disk drive in explorer with the zip disk in the drive? if not, you will not get the 'disk' tab in properties.

without the disk in the drive, when i click properties i get the following tabs: [where "(i)" is the iomega icon]

general
tools
(i)drive
(i)startup
(i)diagnostics
norton

with the disk inserted in the drive, i get the above tabs plus

compression
(i)disk

also, my iomega version number is 5.1

let me know if this helps

:)

"I see a Norton tab but have not yet renewed my license so can not tell what it may reveal"

if you have not renewed your license, it is against the law for me to reveal to you what is found when clicking on that tab. you understand.

okay, now that i've had my brush with hilarity...

the norton tab just offers up disk doctor, speed disk and image, to run these utilities on the disk if desired.

bosquedog and mark, Iomega has a free Norton Zip rescue download. [does not work with USB Zip]. So, even someone who does not have Norton Utilities can still make a Norton Zip rescue disk.
