Gas prices are now irrelevant David...

The summer driving season has ended and it is almost always the case that gas prices fall during this season.

It is heating oil and diesel fuel that you need to watch since much of the reconfiguring of refining capacity to deal with the lack of gasoline supplies has left heating oil stocks extremely low.

If we get an early cold spell, heating oil prices will rise dramatically, and so will natural gas prices which have already doubled this year to multi-year highs.

It has gotten so severe that the Japanese are rumoured to be releasing 6 million barrels of heating oil from their reserves (which are apparently quite ample).

Regards,

Ron
