Re: Of course, their circuit can also be designed out of the RDRAM (if it is actually in there).

Precisely what will happen to any Rambus IP that manages to be confirmed in court.

This company is either dead now, or it must find a new business within 2 to 4 years. It has made every current customer an implacable foe.

It might be a very good 2 to 4 years, though - so as a gamble on a lawsuit, it could be worth the risk. But anyone doing so should make sure they have some of their eggs in another basket.

One bad court decision and this stock would re-open after a trading halt in the single digits. There is no value remaining in the company outside its lawsuits. There are very few securities with as much risk as Rambus.

What happened to Apple from an afternoon's close to the next morning's open would be nothing compared to what would happen to Rambus after a court setback.
