Paul, nice machine, the Gateway you posted, except not enough memory. If anyone were to put Windows 2000 on it, it would crawl. Just my experience once, FWIW.

Actually, Gateway had their $1299 system with an Athlon 850 last Monday. But get this - the 1GHz Athlon is now in their $1599 system!

Let me show you what this means

$2499 1.1GHz 1.1GHz NA


This means Gateway took a 100MHz jump for their $1599 system and a 1GHz PC is now VERY affordable. 1.2GHz should fill in for the missing $2499 slot real soon.
